The video of the demoltion shot

My first week in Iraq

Hey everyone, I finally made it to Iraq after spending several days in Qatar. As soon as I got here they told me that the next night I would be the team chief w/ 2 other first-time deployers on a 8 hour convoy to the FOB that I will be stationed at. I was a little blown away and maybe a little nervous. Anyway, we made it safely thanks to Wiki's mad driving skills. It turns out that the FOB is awesome and we are pretty hooked up. So, after being here for a few days, we go out on our first mission, which is a demoltion opp at night. Here are some of the pics.

There were a lot of flares and illuminating projectiles in the batch that gave it a nice 4th of July feel.

Funny story, while we were out there, my teamate Wiki, desperatly had to use the bathroom and didn't quite make it in time. Therefore, he was searching for some new pants to wear in the truck when he came across our team leader's chemical warfare pants. I personally think he looks like Mr. Tumnus.

Here are some pics of me setting up the shot. And yes, that is a moustache.

Lisa and Andy reunited in Baltimore

On Sunday, Lisa came out to visit me in Baltimore on my 5 day layover here. We have had a great time together and have made the most of the inner harbor. We also want to thank everyone for your love and support. Thanks Elaine for watching Peyton. And Peyton, we love you and miss you. Mommy will be home soon to take care of you.

My trip to Baltimore!

So Andy is currently in Florida doing his pre deployment training. He has two weeks left and then he will be stuck in Baltimore for about 5 days or so before he heads to Iraq, so i will be flying out there to spend a few days with him! I didn't think i was going to get to see him at all until February, so this will be nice. I talked to Andy the other day and he said that they did a weapons training in the blazing hot humidity with 60 pounds of gear on! He said he was sweating so bad he could take his boot off and sweat would pour out! Gross! That was his worst day of training! I'm so proud of him! :)hehe
